The “Mouratoglou Tennis Academy” site in the Sophia Antipolis technology park, in Alpes Maritimes, is built as being the largest European tennis academy with 35 tennis courts (27 outdoor and 8 indoor) and 10 000m2 of academy buildings.

This project is based on the merger of two existing tennis Academies, namely, TETC in Thiverval Grignon near Paris founded by Patrick Moratoglou and ISP based in Sophia Country Club founded by Charles Auffray. Patrick Moratoglou founded the first Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in 1996 and has coached many up-and-coming players, including Marcos Baghdatis (whom he coached to the final of the 2006 Australian Open), Julia Vakulenko, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Aravane Rezaï, Jérémy Chardy, Laura Robson, Yanina Wickmayer and Grigor Dimitrov.
As of June 2012, Mouratoglou is the current coach of Serena Williams.

The funding for the project is provided by a consortium including Mouratoglou’s parents (Founders of EDF New Energy), the Eren Group , Europrestim Management and with the assistance of the banks Société Générale and BPI France. The Academy is due for completion in Spring 2016.
